Experience
Ever since elementary school, I knew that I want to be a teacher. The teachers of my past had a big impact on me and I'd like to have the same on future students. I began tutoring other students in peer tutoring programs in elementary school and continued through to college. In high school, I was an advanced math student two year ahead of my peers. My favorite subjects were algebra 1 and geometry, which I continue to favor. During college, I took a course dedicated to private tutoring and teaching. I worked with students to support their efforts in achieving academic success. I also worked with elementary through college-level students. I have an elementary, middle, and high school teaching license for mathematics. I spent two years teaching fifth grade math and history while tutoring students and parents after school. As a tutor, I believe it is important to provide challenges to the students. I aim for creative assignments, personalized learning plans, and student-led questioning. I'm eager to support students who are struggling with math. I can support their understanding of early to advanced concepts, as well as prepare them for tests on the subject. Outside of tutoring, I love to play soccer and exercise.
